Ford bumped up the towing capabilities of its f series super Duty pick up trucks by adding more torque to its engine and employing lightweight construction techniques. 

The 2017 Super Duty boasts a maximum gooseneck towing capacity of 14,741 kg, conventional towing ability of 9,525 kg fifth wheel towing capacity of 12,473 kg and a payload of 3,460 kg these numbers make it the most capable mode in its class ahead of competition from general Motors and FCA. The 6.7 litre turbo diesel v8 makes 440 horsepower and a massive 1,254 Nm in every model variant from the F-250 to the F-450.

The use of military grade aluminium alloy and high strength steel has help reduce nearly 160kg compared to the previous model. The fully boxed frame is mode up of more than 95 per cent strength steel and is up to 24 times stiffer than before.
