AMERICA'S  LONE STAR STATE IS A TRUCKER'S PARADISE AND EVEN THE JAPANESE ARE WEARING MASH CAPS THESE DAYS............

It's been a trucker's week in Texas and grey importers on our shores must be rubbing their hands already at  the thought of these pick-ups shining up their sandy lots.

The General grabbed headlines by dragging the world's largest flag around Texas Motor Speedway's 2.4 km oval and nabbing a Guinness World Record in the process to flaunt its 2017 Chevrolet Silver-ado HD powered by a new 6.6 litter V8 diesel rated at a colossal 445 bhp and 1,234 Nm of toque.

You know they say everything bigger in texas and even their flags are 300 sq m..............

  

Then the Superstar's Ram division unveiled then latest Lone Star Silver Edition pick up truck and where else but at the Texas state fair in Dallas um Texas. It's so special it's exclusive to Texas Ram dealers only but a few are bound to slip through to Al Aweer's dealers anyway. The Lone Star Silver Edition ships out before the is out packing a choice of a 3.6 litre V6 or a 5.7 litre Hemi V8 in 4 x 2 and 4 x 4 crew cab configuration.

Even Japanese carmaker Nissan is cashing in on Texas truck craze with the release of Texas Titan option available for Titan XD and Titan craw cab 4 x 4 and 4 x 2 models that aren't part of Nissan middle East portfolio.

In the states these full sizes come with either a cum-mins 5.0 litre v8 turbo-diesel rated at 310 bhp

and 752 Nm or a 5.6 litre v8 petrol motor with 390 bhp and 535 Nm of torque. The Texas package includes a load of chrome and bodging and 20 in chrome wheels chrome exhaust chrome door sills chrome grille and yeah chrome.  

However the best truck news of the week ended up coming from Michigan and Chrysler's HQ in Auburn Hills where Ram announced the Rebel TRX concept demonstrating the possibility of an upcoming producting super-half tonne pick up. The suspercharged 6.2 litre Hemi V8 under the bonnet develops 575 horsepower and has an eight speed automatic transmission for company. Capable of reipping through the desert at over 160 kph apparently.
