MERC-AMG C63 R 2017

MERC -AMG C 63 R 2017

it was inevitable. Mercedes   - AMG has started testing a more track-focused version of the already mental C 63 coupe. The prototype, which apparently was incredibly fast around the Nurburing whre our soy spotted it will be the halo model in the C-Class rang sutting above the C 63 s.

This is in line with what Mercedes has done with the AMG GT range. While there are some chances of the black series name returning the alphabet 'R' seems to be the one to denote AMG's pinnacle of performance our would therefore be on the latter.

Cosmetically apart from the hard to miss humongous fixed spoiler at the rear and a new front splitter there is little that has changed.

The big news will be under the bonnet though. The current C 63 S makes 503 bhp from its twin turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 and we'd wager that the R will make more Something in the region of 550 horse power seems perfectly logical.

The car will likely also get four wheel steering from the GT R, and be given AMG's new found obsession with handling rather than hooning  and an optional four wheel drive version will also be available.

Power will still be transmitted via a seven speed dual clutch gearbox presumably set up for more aggressive shifts than in the S variant. You can officially consider us excited now.
